Meet Attorney Edward Levy
Our attorney, Edward Levy, is uniquely qualified to assist you and lead a team of legal and other professionals to meet your goals.
Mr. Levy has loved the law his entire life. As an elementary school student, he completed a criminal law and procedure course at the University of Miami School of Law. He participated in the Court Observer Program and, even, worked with Roy Black on cases for the Metro Dade Public Defender's Office.
In service to his country, Mr. Levy became a Military Policeman and Battalion level legal clerk handling Uniform Code of Military Justice matters including courts-martial. Upon relief from active duty, and while in college, Mr. Levy worked as a police dispatcher.
Attorney with a Background in Accounting
Trained as a Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Levy served clients as an auditor, tax accountant, and management consultant with the national CPA firm of Kenneth Leventhal and Company (now part of Ernst & Young) for over five years. As the senior associate assigned to Centrust Savings and Loan, he provided analysis of junk bond trading to Mr. David Boies, then of Cravath Swaine and Moore, for the FDIC v Drexel Burnham Lambert case. Mr. Levy provided other litigation support assignments including preparing expert testimony in tortious interference of contract cases and conducting historical financial and market analysis to calculate economic damages.
From Business to Law
As a law student, Mr. Levy interned for Holme Roberts and Owen (now Bryan Cove). Upon graduation, Mr. Levy joined the Office of the State Public Defender as a trial attorney. He proudly holds an unofficial record for causing the longest DUI trial in the history of Denver County Court.
In private industry for over ten years, Mr. Levy progressed from corporate controller to chief financial officer of manufacturing, sales and service companies including Fortune 500 subsidiary. Later, as an independent consultant, Mr. Levy specialized in real estate syndications, acquisitions of companies and product lines, obtaining mezzanine financing, and restructuring in work out and turnaround situations for a variety of corporate clients and wealthy individuals.
Representing Clients Across the Country
Mr. Levy has represented clients before state courts and administrative agencies in Colorado, federal courts in Colorado, California, Tennessee and Florida. He has briefed appeals and made oral arguments before appellate courts including a published opinion issued by the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Mr. Levy is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and Colorado state courts.
He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and ?? Recognized by Findlaw for participation in their customer expert exchange.
